Me and my music
I’m Anneli Rydahl – singer and composer from Sweden. I would describe my music as pop with influences from world and ambient. Music to inspire and make you dream.
…She learnt that dreams were good
nothing to hide away
or to be ashamed about
It is the comfort to all
living and breathing and would be missed if left out…
“Rachel Green” has over the past few years taken many shapes and become something of a metaphor for believing in yourself and your dreams. It was not until I went to India in 2005 that we tailored an Indian costume for her. During the stay I also got the chance to sing on the title track for the Bollywood film ISRAA.
Melodies and lyrics have been important to me ever since childhood. I didn’t grow up in a musical family and therefore music was often hard to find. But one day I came across Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” and fell in love instantly. It would take years before I knew how amazing the lyrics were too. Therefore, making a cover of this song was inevitable.
I’ve done several recording projects and concerts with Nikolaus von Knorring. In 2007 we decided to form a band – or rather a duo – Enchanted Duo. We usually do acoustic performances – Nikolaus on vocal/guitar and me on vocal/piano.
In 2004 I released my first album “Waterlilies” on my own. Nikolaus and I produced it together ‘in the kitchen’ and it has led us on paths we never knew we’d walk…
